Topic: GOD CAN RESTORE YOUR LOST YEARS

TEXT: Joel 2:25. 18-19

Money can be restored. Property can be restored—broken-down cars, stripped painting, old houses. Relationships can be restored. But one thing that can never be restored is time. Time flies and it does not return. Years pass and we never get them back.

Yet God promises the impossible: “I will restore the years that the locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25). The immediate meaning of this promise is clear. God’s people had suffered the complete destruction of their entire harvest through swarms of locusts that marched like an insect army through the fields, destroying the crops, multiplying their number as they went.

For four consecutive years, the harvest was completely wiped out. God’s people were brought to their knees in more ways than one. But “the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people.” God said, “Behold I am sending to you grain, wine and oil, and you will be satisfied (Joel 2:18-19).

In the coming years, God said, their fields would yield an abundance that would make up for what had been lost: “The threshing floor shall be full of grain; the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. . . . You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied” (Joel 2:24, 26).

This wonderful promise for those people meant that years of abundant harvests would follow the years of desolation brought about by the locusts.

But because the Bible says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!" Hebrews 8:13 so His promises remains to us forever.

Lost Years of Our Lives

What do “lost years” look like for us? Lost years (or locust years) are years that you can’t get back, and they come in many varieties.

1. Lost years are fruitless years. A lot of hard work was done in the years the locusts had eaten. After everything was destroyed, the people must have thought, All this work and what do I have to show for it? Some of you know this pain in the world of business—a failed venture, a bad investment, a misguided policy, and all the effort that you put in day-by-day, month-by-month, year-by-year led only to massive disappointment. You think, What has come of all my time and all my effort?

2. Lost years are painful years. I’m thinking of those who have lost a loved one. You had plans for the future, but now you fear the coming years may be empty. I’m thinking also of those who live with illness in the body or the mind. You assumed that you would always be able to do what you used to do. You have to find a way to live with the disappointment that you cannot.

3. Lost years are selfish years. Here’s a story that’s been repeated thousands of times. There’s a person (let’s call him Jim) who made a commitment to Christ, but it didn’t run deep. Faith in Jesus was a slice of the big pie of his busy life, filled with all the things that Jim wanted to pursue. Then one day, God gets hold of Jim. He is spiritually awakened. He says to himself, What in the world have I been doing? There’s no substance in my life. I really want it to count for Christ. I want to live in the power of the Spirit. I want to make a difference in the world, but the locusts have eaten half my life! I’ve wasted my years on myself.

4. Lost years are loveless years. A division comes to a family, alienating loved ones. Children grow up, and those years cannot be recovered. A marriage quietly endures in which love has been burning low for many years. You see a couple who are really in love, and you say, “I wish I could be loved like that.” Or you have not yet met the person you would like to meet. It feels like the years are moving on. You can never get them back. The locusts have eaten them.

5. Lost years are rebellious years. Perhaps you grew up with many blessings, but in your heart you wanted to rebel. You didn’t fully understand this urge, but you gave yourself to it. Instead of bringing you pleasure, rebellion brought you pain. Now you look back on those years with regret, the years that the locusts have eaten.

6. Lost years are misdirected years. The path you chose in your career or at college was a dead end. You just didn’t fit. Often in your mind, and sometimes in your conversation, you say, “How did I end up here? If only. . . . If only I had made that move. . . . If only I had taken that opportunity. . . . If only I had chosen a different path.” But the moment has passed. It’s gone. You can’t go back to it. You’re left with locust years.

7. Lost years are Christ-less years. All Christ-less years are locust years. This point is worth thinking about if you have not yet made a commitment to Christ. Ask anyone who came to faith in Christ later in life, and they will tell you that they wish they’d come to Christ sooner than they did: “How much foolishness I would have avoided. How much more good might have been done through my life.”

How God Restores Lost Years

Take heart! There is hope, because God can restore your lost, locust years. He does so in three ways.

1. God can restore lost years by deepening your communion with Christ. “You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God” (Joel 2:27). These people, who have endured so much, enjoy a communion with the Lord that is far greater than anything they had ever known before in their religious lives. Christ can restore lost years by deepening your fellowship with him.

Why not ask him for this? Tell him, “Lord, I have spent too many years without you, too many years at a distance from you. Fill my heart with love and gratitude for Christ. Let the loss of these years make my love for Christ greater than it would ever have been. Restore to me the years the locusts have eaten. “

2. God can restore lost years by multiplying your fruitfulness. The harvests for these people had been wiped out for four years, but God restored the years that the locusts had eaten by giving bumper harvests.

Mathew 13:23

This provision makes me think about the parable where Jesus spoke about a harvest that could be 30-, 60-, or 100-fold. There’s a huge difference between these three harvests. Three years at 100-fold is as much fruit as a decade at 30-fold.

Prayer:

Why not ask him for this? “Lord, the locusts have eaten too many years of our lives. You have called us as your disciples to bear fruit that will last. Too many fruitless years have passed. Now Lord, we ask of you, give us some years now in which more lasting fruit will be born than in all of our years of small harvests.”

God can restore lost years by bringing long-term gain from short-term loss. The effect of these great trials in your life will be that “the tested genuineness of your faith . . . may result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:7). The praise, glory, and honor go to Christ because his power guarded you and kept you through the hardest years of your life.

Thinking about “years that the locust has eaten,” years that have been taken, I think of something Isaiah said about our Lord Jesus: “He was cut off out of the land of the living” (Isaiah 53:8).

Here was the Lord Jesus in the prime of life. He was three years into his ministry at 33 years old. You would think that a man launching a new enterprise at the age of 33 has everything in front of him. But Isaiah says, “He was cut off.” He was cut off because he came under the judgment of God, not for his own sins—because he had none—but for ours.

Our sins, our grief, our sorrows, were laid on him. Our judgment fell on him. Our locusts swarmed all over him. The life of God’s tender shoot was “cut off.” Then, on the third day, the Son of God rose in the power of an eternal life. He offers himself to you, and he says what no one else can ever say: “I will restore the years that the locusts have eaten.”

Finally: Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Mathew 11:28.

If you need rest and restoration , you can only find it in Christ Jesus. Come to Him today and He will restore you back.

Prayer of restoration

Psalm 51

Many times we want to run through this life and not get weary. We want to walk through our problems and not become faint.

"Waiting" is a word that we don't like to hear. None of us want to experience waiting, but do you know that if you wait on God your waiting will never be in vain?

To wait means to endure whatever life throws at us, in waiting you have to persevere, you have to exercise patient, you have to learn how to walk with God and man in humility.

In our waiting, it might appear as if the answers to your prayer seems too late but you have to wait so that he who laugh last can laugh best.

God knows what’s best for us, our waiting is not always in vain when we wait on Him.

Have a bless day.

Divinely Restored

Text : Joel 2:25
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…Joel 2:25
When it comes to Divine Restoration there is no limit for our God.

Restoration comes when a review of the past activities is carried out.
Just like we are in the eleventh month of the year now and all hope seems dashed concerning those dreams at the beginning of the year. The Lord is restoring those lost months in Jesus name.

When God says He will restore, He means He is going to your foundation for total amendment, that it's to say He will go into your past to see those waste that have decayed. Good news is that God knows about the pains of the past. He saw you while you struggled and at the end of the day could not break even. God knows about those wasted dreams, He knows about those investments that went down the drain…He knows about those relationships that failed after much investments…He saw the places where your hopes were dashed! Now He says, ‘I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” Believe it!

The losses of many years can be converted into gain by the Lord in just a moment of time because He has done it before and He is still doing it today for He change situations but change not.
Hebrews 13:8 says"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
Examples of people in the Bible that God has divinely restored;
1. Petter experienced a divine restoration after he has toiled all through the night without a single catch in the book of Luke 5:5, but when he met with God the restorer, in just a moment he had the kind of catch he had never had in all his fishing life.
2. A single word in the book of John 11:43 "Lazarus, come forth" brought forth 4 days dead man out of his grave.
3. Jesus and the Widow's Son in Luke 7:11-17. Jesus said "Weep not". Every form of weeping has come to an end in your life today in Jesus name.
4. The Shunammite Woman was divinely restored in 2Kings 4:8-37
5. Abraham and Sarah who had already passed the age of bearing was divinely restored in Genesis18:1-3,9-14, Genesis. 21:2

God who restored the past glory of these people is restoring yours today in Jesus name.
It might look as if the year is coming to an end again and all hope is gone concerning those dreams of yours, those projects may seems impossible. Hear this, God of possibility is making every impossible in your life becoming possible wright from this hour in Jesus name.
Come to think of it, do you know that those that The Lord restored never remain the same? There is always a total restoration in what The Lord decides to restore, because He owns the foundation of the Earth. Put your trust in Him and your life will never remain the same again. In John 11:40, Jesus said unto Martha "only, if you will believe, you will see the glory of God"
My brother and my sister the God of 11th hour miracles is saying that only if you can believe in Him your total restoration is certain starting from this hour.
This is another second chance if para venture you are yet to give your life to the restore- Jesus, you can do so today and experience his glory before it is too late. God bless you.

Boboye Reuben Olisawo

God's presence - and how we can lay hold of that power! Scripture provides
endless examples of how the presence of God empowers his children to live for
him. And one of the most powerful of these is found in the life of Moses.

Moses was
convinced that without God's presence in his life, it was useless for him to
attempt anything. When he spoke face to face with the Lord, he said,
"...If thy presence go not with me, carry us up not hence" (Exodus
33:15). He was saying, "Lord, if your presence is not with me, then I'm
not going anywhere. I won't take a single step unless I'm assured you're with
me!"

Moses
knew it was God's presence in Israel that set the people apart from all other
nations. And the same is true of the church of Jesus Christ today. The only
thing that sets us apart from nonbelievers is God's being "with us" -
leading us, guiding us, working his will in and through us.

Moses
didn't care how other nations received their guidance, formed their strategies,
ran their governments or directed their armies. He said, "We operate on
one principle alone. The only way for us to be guided or governed, to make war
and survive in this wasteland, is to have the presence of God with us!

"When
the Lord's presence is in our midst, no one can harm us. But without him, we're
helpless, reduced to nothing. Let all the nations of this world trust in their
mighty armies, their iron chariots, their skilled soldiers, their new weapons.
We will trust in the manifest presence of our God!"

Here is
how God answered Moses' bold statement: "...My presence shall go with
thee, and I will give thee rest" (verse 14). What an incredible promise!
The Hebrew word for "rest" here is "a comfortable, quiet
rest." God was saying, "No matter what enemies or trials you face,
you'll always be able to find a quiet rest in me!"

Think
about this: If a church has the manifest presence of God in its midst, there
won't be any hustle or bustle, sweating or striving. The worship meetings won't
be hurried along, with three songs, an offering and a short sermon. Instead,
there will be a calming peace, a quiet rest - and everyone who walks through
the doors will sense it!

Of
course, this doesn't mean a church can't experience loud praises or exuberant
worship. On the contrary, I believe those things are often the result of a
people at rest. A church body that has God's presence in its midst will live,
move and worship with a quiet confidence in the Lord at all times.

The same
is true for every individual Christian. If you have Jesus' presence in your
life, you will experience God's divine order. You'll have a peace and a calm,
with no fretting or anxiety, no running to and fro to seek guidance, no sense
that the bottom is falling out. You'll live at rest, knowing God has everything
under control!

there's something different about you. God guides you, preserves you and

(Joshua 1:5-6). When God's Spirit is present with us, we can be strong and
courageous - because no enemy can harm us!

mighty man of valour...Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save
Israel..." (Judges 6:12,14). The phrase "thy might" in this
verse refers to the previous verse - that "the Lord is with thee." Do
you see what God is saying? "Gideon, there is a might in you that's so
powerful, it can save Israel. And that might is my presence!" Scripture reveals
Gideon to be a coward - so, why did God call him a "mighty man of
valor"? It was because he wanted to prove to Gideon what any person can do
when the Lord's presence is with him!

the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
For I am the Lord thy God...and I have loved thee...Fear not: for I am with
thee..." (Isaiah 43:15). God was saying, "With my presence abiding

merely survive. You'll be blessed and favored through it all, because my presence
is with you!"

Testament passages aren't just dead-letter stories. They're meant to encourage
and exhort us to seek God's presence in our lives. We can thank God for what
his presence did for Abraham, Joshua, Gideon, Jeremiah and all of Israel. Yet
each of us has a powerful testimony of what God's presence has done for us -
guiding our lives, opening doors, moving obstacles, melting hearts, making us
fearless.

attaches a condition to his presence in our lives. This condition is found in 2
Chronicles 15. In the previous chapter, King Asa had led the armies of Judah to
a great victory over Ethiopia's million-man army. Yet Asa testified it was
God's presence that had scattered the enemy:

"Asa

whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, 0 Lord, our God;
for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude...So the Lord
smote the Ethiopians before Asa..." (2 Chronicles 14:11-12).

As Asa
and his armies led the triumphant procession back to Jerusalem, a prophet named
Azariah met them at the city gate with this message from God: "Hear ye me,
Asa...The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will
be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. Now for a long
season Israel hath been without the true God...But when they in their trouble
did turn unto the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of
them" (15:1-4).

Here is
the secret of getting and maintaining the presence of God in your life. The
Lord reminded Asa, point blank, with no holds barred: "Asa, don't ever
forget how you got this victory. You sought me with all your heart, turning
wholly to me, when you were in trouble - and I sent my presence to you. It was
my presence that put your enemies to chase!"

Now Azariah
was telling Asa, "Do you remember what the kingdom was like before you
came to power? Everything was out of kilter, with no law, no guidance, no
righteous teaching. Everyone was a law unto himself, doing his own thing!"

This is
an accurate picture of many Christian homes today. Everything is out of order,
with no authority, peace or rest. Everyone does what he or she pleases. Many
such families have become tragic, dysfunctional messes.

Yet it
doesn't have to be this way. No Christian home has to remain dysfunctional.
God's promises are unchangeable, and his word pledges, "For the rest of
your life - as long as you continue to seek me - I will be with you. Whenever
you cry out to me, I will always be found of you!"

This is
not a complicated theology. Simply put, if both husband and wife - or merely
either - are seeking the Lord, there is no need for their home to be troubled
or "without law." Anyone can have the abiding presence of the Lord,
if he or she will simply seek him for it.

"...The
Lord...will be found of you..." (15:2). The Hebrew word for
"found" here is "matsa," meaning, "his presence coming
forth to enable, to bless." In short, this verse tells us, "Seek the
Lord with your whole heart, and he will come to you with his presence. Indeed,
his presence will be an almighty power that emanates from your life!"

God makes
his covenant of grace with every believer. This covenant is embodied in
promises such as, "God has laid on Christ the iniquity of us all."
"Jesus became a curse for us." "He will never leave us nor
forsake us."

Yet God
also makes certain, special promises to those who determine to seek him with
all their hearts. One such promise is a covenant of God's presence. However,
this covenant is strictly conditional. Scripture makes it clear that if we
abide by the rule of this covenant, we will enjoy the incredible blessing of
God's presence in our lives. And this doesn't refer only to issues of
salvation. It speaks of being such seekers after God that his awesome presence
is poured out on us - and it is seen and known by all!

God
revealed this covenant of his presence through an unnamed prophet who delivered
a message to Eli, the high priest of Israel. At the time, Eli was backslidden.
The Lord had been speaking to him, warning him against allowing sin and
compromise. But Eli had ignored all of God's words. And now, this unnamed
prophet said to Eli, "...the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that
thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now
the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and
they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed" (I Samuel 2:30).

The
phrase "lightly esteemed" has to do with God lifting his presence.
This doesn't mean a person is damned, but rather that he'll have to walk in the
power of his own flesh. God was telling Eli, "I intended to bless your
house, to favor you. But you've scorned me, becoming soft on sin and allowing
your lusts to push me aside, Now I will take my presence from you!"

Many
people come to Christ with a great, initial burst of faith. Yet over time their
zeal wears thin, and they begin to neglect the Lord. They lightly esteem his
commands and turn back to their old, sinful ways. Yet they still believe God's
presence remains with them. No - that is a hoax, a lie, a delusion! The Bible
makes it clear: If you forsake him, he will forsake you!

God's
promises never fail. But some - like the covenant of his presence - are
absolutely conditional. They require more than merely our cooperation. Of course,
God will never abandon us or stop loving us. But if we remain in sin, his
presence will not be with us - and our lives will no longer be an instrument of
his powerful presence. We will live according to the flesh - striving,
floundering, with no power or guidance!

When
Israel was in the wilderness, God manifested his presence to them through a
cloud. This cloud was a physical manifestation of God's pledge to be with his
people. It came down and covered the tabernacle night and day. And it acted as
their guide for every undertaking. When the cloud moved, they moved, and when
it stayed, they stayed. The people didn't have to hold committee meetings to
try to figure out their direction or future. They put their confidence in that
visible cloud of God's presence.

Today,
that same cloud of his presence hovers over your secret closet of prayer. It
waits every day to envelope you in its peace. It will lead you, empower you and
give you peace. And it will give you detailed guidance for your home, work and
relationships.

Your
secret closet can be anywhere - in the shower, on the bus to your job, during
your commute to work. You can shut out everything else and say, "Lord, I've
got half an hour right now. I love you, Jesus, and worship you. This is my
closet time with you!"

It's a
wonderful thing to be shut in with God, developing a consistent prayer life.
God promises that as you become a seeking, praying servant, his presence will
break forth in your life - closing and opening doors and working his divine
order all around you. Yet something even greater than this will happen: God's
presence will lead you into a revelation of his glory!

There is
a difference between God's presence and his glory. Most Christians know his
presence - his great works in their lives - but few know his glory. In Exodus,
we're given a glimpse of this difference: "Then a cloud covered the tent
of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle"
(Exodus 40:34).

The
apostle Paul writes that all believers' bodies are the tabernacle of God:
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth
in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16). Like the Israelites who lived under the
cloud of God's presence, we're constantly under the covering of God's grace.
Yet, what is the difference between beholding God's presence and beholding his
glory?

of His Glory.

Moses
sought God for a continual manifestation of his presence: "...that I may
know thee..." (Exodus 33:13-14). And God answered him, "...My
presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest" (verse 14).

Moses'
request would be quite enough for most believers. We all want the presence of
God - leading us, guiding us, empowering us, blessing us. Really, what more
could any believer desire? Yet having the assurance of God's presence wasn't
enough for Moses. He knew there was more. And he cried out, "...I beseech thee,
shew me thy glory" (verse 18).

God did
show Moses his glory. But it didn't appear in some luminous cloud or in an
earthshaking demonstration of power. No, God expressed his glory in a simple
revelation of his nature: "The Lord passed before him, and proclaimed, The
Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in
goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and
transgression and sin..." (34:6-7). God's glory was a revelation of his
goodness, mercy, love and compassion!

I've
heard many Christians say, "Oh, how the glory of God came down in our
church last night! There was such incredible praise, and people were slain by
the Spirit." But that isn't proof of a manifestation of God's glory. It
has nothing to do with God beyond human emotions. It doesn't include a
revelation of who he is!

Some may
argue, "But what about the disciples' experience on the Mount of
Transfiguration? Wasn't that a manifestation of God's glory? There was an
overpowering light and the miraculous appearance of Moses and Elijah."

But God's
glory wasn't in Moses or Elijah or in the spectacular light. Rather, his glory
was in Jesus: "...his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white
as the light...behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved
Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" (Matthew 17:2-6).

God was
saying, "Here is my glory personified - in Christ!" Indeed, Jesus is
the fulfillment of all God said he was to Moses - gracious, merciful,
longsuffering, abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and transgression of sins. And now the Lord was saying,
"Here's a living picture of my glory. It is all embodied in my son!"

I've
heard some Christians say, "If only the Lord would give me a vision of the
horrors of hell, I would never forsake him. I'd live for Jesus every day!"
No - that kind of vision never keeps anyone. Only a vision of who Jesus is - of
his glory, grace and mercy - will keep us holy.

God wants
to open our eyes to "...the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the
saints" (Ephesians 1:18). He's saying, "All the glory I revealed to
Moses is embodied in my son. And now I have given him to you as your
inheritance. You have a right to know him in all his glory!" "In him dwelleth
all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2:9).

Why did
Moses so desperately seek a vision of God's glory? I believe the reason is
found in this verse: "There I will meet with the children of Israel, and
the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory" (Exodus 29:43). The word
"sanctified" here means "made clean." God was saying, in
other words: "Moses, as you and the people worship me, I will meet with
you and give you my presence. And when I reveal my glory to you, it will
cleanse you!"

This is
one of the most powerful verses in all of scripture. It offers hope to everyone
who struggles with a besetting sin and yearns to be free and clean. God
pledges, "Your temple will be made clean by a revelation of my glory. And
that revelation is available to you right now - in my son, Jesus Christ!"

Where can
we find this revelation of Christ? We find it only as we come to the
scriptures! Paul says that as we allow God's word to reflect to us an
ever-increasing revelation of Jesus, we will be changed from glory to glory:
"We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are
changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the
Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).

This
revelation of God's glory will provide keeping power for our lives:
"...upon all the glory shall be a defence" (Isaiah 4:5). In other
words, God's glory will keep us clean in our worst hour. Satan may lie to us,
"You're defeated! You're a cheat, a liar, an adulterer." But we can answer,
"No, devil. I have a high priest - and I'm cleansed by a vision of his
glory!"

When God
revealed to Moses all these things about his nature, he also gave him the full
revelation that he "...will by no means clear the guilty..." (Exodus
34:7). Azariah prophesied to King Asa in his most prosperous hour, "If you
despise God's glory - if you excuse your sin and neglect the Lord - he will not
cleanse you!" "...The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if
ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake
you" (2 Chronicles 15:2).

What God
is telling us here is so simple: "Take time to get to know my son! Search
my word and seek me in your secret closet of prayer. Then, as you abide in my
presence, your eyes will begin to open to my glory. It is all revealed in
Christ. He is the full revelation of my love, grace, mercy, kindness.

"As
you continually reflect on this revelation, it will cleanse and purify you -
because you'll become more and more like Jesus. As you see how loving and
merciful he is to you, you'll become more loving and merciful to others. And
that will be my glory revealed in you!"

Beloved,
stop looking for a sign. Stop expecting some force to shake your church
building, or for some preacher to lay hands on you and solve all your problems.
Seek the Lord alone! His word makes it clear - you'll either enjoy his
continual presence or be lightly esteemed: "For the eyes of the Lord run
to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of
them whose heart is perfect toward him..." (16:9).

Seek him
with all your heart, and desire his presence in your daily life. Then you will
know and experience the incredible glory of God!

Text: Psalm121: 1-8

Life sure seems to be full of trouble, does it not? If it isn’t one thing, it’s something else or someone else causing us trouble. And it applies to everybody. No one is immune.
The book of Job 14:1 says, “Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble.”
Everybody limps in life because of something and everybody has a crutch, as Christians we believe that the Lord is the best crutch. No wonder, David knew about how tough life could get when he said gives us some help from above for life’s troubles. Psalm 86:1-4

Life could be very challenging but the only place we could get help is from above, the helper himself-God. Psalm 46:1 says” ….He is our present help in the time of trouble’
“when we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6). The problem with “helping yourself” and asking God for a little assistance is that you’re the one still calling the shots — keeping all your options open. Few things are more insulting to God than for a man to come before Him while holding onto other options….just in case the “God thing” doesn’t work out. Remember Lazarus, the dead man? He had no options whatsoever. Jesus stood before the cold stone, which sealed his tomb and ordered it removed, and then called out, “Lazarus, come forth!” And the dead man did so, now fully alive. A significant part of this event is contained in the name Lazarus — it means “without help.” You see? God helps the helpless. Like Lazarus of old lying cold in his tomb, you and I will never be called into a new and deeper, more vibrant and wondrous walk with Jesus until we realize we truly have no other options but God.

Peter was speaking for all of us that day when he said, “Lord, there is no one else that we can go to! Your words give eternal life” (John 6:68)
In this month of “Divine Help” let God be your source, surrender all to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith because help can only come from above.

In this year of overflows, when you allow His will to be done in your life, not only will He take you higher but you will experience the unstoppable overflows.
Yield yourself unto Him and you will never remain the same.

Genesis 1:26-28

When God created man- the first Adam, sin brought him down from his place of authority but God decided to send the second Adam- Jesus in the book of 1 Corinthians 15: 45, 47 to restote us back our original authority. Mathew 28:18, Luke 10:19.

When Jesus walked the earth He took authority over everything and He wants us to do the same as Christians. You don't come to my house, you dont come to my marriage, I don't permit you in my body!

Do you know If you don't speak to your mountains your mountains will speak to you. You have to declear the shield of faith. Mathew 17:20, Romans 4:20

When you speak your faith, your father, who lives big in you, does the work.

When Jesus walked the earth He took authority over things as a man anointted by God. And as such as the Roman Centurion said "All you have to do is speak" for things to obey him (Matthew 8:8,9)

And He passed his authority to his disciples (Matthew 10:1,8). And with that authority they went out and did the works of Jesus (Mark 6:7,13). Jesus passed his authority by his words. And as He authorized them He authorized you. The only question is do you believe (John 14:12 Mark 16:17,18). You have that authority whether you use it or not is up to you (Matthew 17:20). Jesus said "All power(authority) is given unto me in heaven and in earth" then he told them to go in that authority (Matthew 28:18,19). Understand in Ephesians 1:22 it says God has put all things under the feet(authority) of Jesus and since they are under His feet they are under your feet(authority). He is the head and we are the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:23). So what the head wants to do He has to do it through his body the church.

So whatever you ask in His name shall be giving unto you. Acts 10:38 The backing is there so go ahead and use the power.

Now when God first made man He gave man dominion over all the earth (Genesis 1:26-28). That's why Jesus had to come as a man. A man got us in this mess (the curse) so a man had to get us out (Galatians 3:13). Because God gave man dominion He authorised man to operate in the earth. That's why you noticed when Jesus was raised from the dead He didn't heal one person, He didn't cast out one demon, He didn't do one miracles and that's because He was restored to his Divine self. He had his glorified body and God only authorized those with a physical body to have dominion. So whatever Jesus wants to do He has to do through you. That's why Jesus told us to occupy until He come (Luke 19:13). Occupy means-To take possession of and maintain control over by force. Isn't that what God told Adam to do (Genesis 1:26-28). You have a force behind you. Have you ever been in a wind storm and tried to force your way against it, but had you got in the flow of it then it would have pushed you. Look at Job 8:2 God's words are as a strong wind. Get in the flow of God's word and let it push you into your destiny. Jesus can't take possession for you, He backs you, but you have to step out in faith. Jesus backs you, that's why He said Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18). Note that it starts with you so if there's something going on in your body speak to it, if there's something going on in your family speak to it, if it's something going on in your home speak to it in the Name of Jesus.

Side Note: Be careful what you speak over your body. Look at Genesis 1:26-28 again, notice "Let them have dominion over all the earth". What is your body made of ? Earth (Genesis 2:7). Notice Psalms 8:4-6 God has put all the works of his hands under man's feet. And your body is a work of his hands. Now understand that you are a spirit with a body and it's the spirit man that has authority. And when you have authority all you have to do is speak (Matthew 8:9). So be careful what you speak- I can't remember anything, these old bones can't do what they used to do you are exercising dominion.

By Reuben Boboye Olisawo

God bless.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04385136268048537016noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3685830217347118313.post-68303913390995189732013-08-08T11:47:00.001-07:002013-08-08T11:52:58.226-07:00YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN
line-height: 0.64cm; margin-bottom: 0.1cm; padding: 0cm;">
THE
POWER OF THE TONGUE
Text: James
3:2-11
Word can trigger up negative side of oneself.
The words
that we speak, are they life or death?
Do they give us hope
or discouragement?

Since
we are held responsible for every word we speak, I think we had
better listen very carefully to what we are saying, not just to our
brethren, but also to ourselves. Notice what Jesus said: "But I
say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall
give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou
shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned"
(Mt.12:36-37). Let us look at the words, justified and
condemned a little more closely.
By being Justified -- we are
being freed from all blame, we are without guilt and we are shown or
proven to be right.
Condemned means -- to be pronounced unfit for
use, guilty.

By
our own words we can be free from blame and without guilt, or we can
pronounce ourselves guilty and unfit for the use of God.
If it is
the Word of God -- it is Life, it is freedom.

If
it is ourselves speaking -- it is death, and words of death will
destroy, kill everyone that hears us; and not only they who hear us,
but ourselves as well. Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are
in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit
thereof."

So
what do we love -- Life or death? What are we eating, and what are we
'living' on? Is it Life or Death? It is one or the other. Let us
quote Proverbs 18:21 again, it says that "Death and life are in
the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit
thereof." And in 18:20, "A man's belly shall be satisfied
with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall
he be filled." Is our belly satisfied and filled with life,
which is Christ, and live; or are we filled with the manna of death,
which is an enemy, and die? Let it be life, and then this verse will
come to pass, "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death"
(1 Cor.15:26).

Genesis
22:7-13 Isaac asked his father this questions, here is the
fire, this is knife, where is the lamb? Abraham prophecy that God
will provide himself a lamb. The spoken word go into action and God
provided.
Genesis 1:1-4 God spoken the word and it was
established.
The creative word should come out of us.
The word
created the world, the word sustain the world.
When you confess
the word of God it will come to pass.
You can change your future
by changing your word.

Has
anyone ever said something negative to you, and you just wilted and
felt like you had died inside, or perhaps they said some beautiful
words to you, then you just blossomed like a flower. This is
the way of the tongue. Let us, therefore, tend to life with our
tongue, which may seem to be an impossible task; but be assured with
God all things are possible (Mk 9:23). We will and shall be able to
tame the tongue and only speak living words of life and reality. In
Proverbs 26:20 we also find these words: "Where no wood is,
there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife
ceaseth." When our wood, hay and stubble is consumed, the carnal
fire has gone out, but the eternal flame of God will burn for ever.
Praise God Hallelujah!

Maintain

matter the situation.
2. Maintain a good confession. Romans 1:17

The
word will work if you work it. Meditate on the word and this got to
do with you renew your mind.
Romans 12:2
You must renew your
mind. The Tower of Babel was built on the word.

Romans
10:10
We can see there is a negative (dark) side, but there is
always a positive (light) side as well. What is important to us is
that which is positive, that which gives us life eternal, and we know
our life comes from God the Father through Christ Jesus, Who is the
savior of all man. It is good to know the dark side of things, so we
can stand against the wiles of evil, but it is so much better to live
and have our being in the positive (the side of light and life).

I
myself want to live. What about you? I know the answer to that. We
are all wanting to live, and not just live but to live life more
abundantly.

So
now that we know we are all wanting to live, let us look at some of
the scriptures that speak of those things that give us life:

Proverbs
10:20 says, "The tongue of the just is as choice silver",
(silver speaks of redemption & righteousness),( see also Proverbs
25:4-5 and Psa. 12:6).

"A
wholesome tongue is a tree of life" (Prov. 15:4), and we know
that Jesus Christ is the Tree of Life -- ever living (Rev. 2:7).

"The
mouth of a righteous man is a well of life" (Prov.10 :11), and
John 4:14 tells us that He (Jesus) is the water for the thirsty.
Jesus also said, "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and
drink" (John 7:37). "In the lips of him that hath
understanding wisdom is found..." (Prov. 10:13), "...and
with wisdom the house is built" (Prov. 24:3-4).

"The
lips of the righteous feed many" (Prov. 10-21), and Jesus said,
"Feed My sheep" (John 21:15-17).

To
have all the words of life we must be circumcised in the heart and
put on the mind of Christ, also communicate, and have an intimate
relationship with Him, with Christ the living Spirit which dwells in
us.
The word is the most important seed that we can sow, so let us
sow good seed.

Praise focuses on the omnipotent of God. Praise simply means appreciating God for whom He is. Thanksgiving is the goodness of God and worship is holiness of God. Romans 8:1. The reason God called you is to praise Him. Isaiah 43:21. When you are not praising God you are not fulfilling the purpose of His creation. Praise environment is God's environment. Acts 16:25-40 Wonders of praise. In the book of Acts 16:25, the word midnight Connote the time of your life when you come to a cross road. At midnight Paul and Silas prayed but they switched over. Your neighbour must hear your voice. When you praise you get access to God but there was earthquake and God came down. All the doors opened. This mean all doors were opened. What you need is immediate praise for immediate result. It was not all the prison doors were opened but of those that praise. Don't be fan club. Don't be a referee who will not go home with medal but be somebody who will go home with something. Do you know why Paul did not go? Because he praised for the doors to be opened and if he was luck up again he will praise for the doors to be opened. When prison door was opened for Peter he ran away because prayer was done on his behalf but praise can not be done on behalf of anybody. The realm of praise is the realm of wonders because God is fearful in praise doing wonders. Exodus 15:11. Act 16:29-30. Sinner around you must ask you what to do to be save after this praise. After this praise God will show peace on the earth.

When it comes to praise you focus on God don't look at your problem but focus on God.

When it comes to praise you dance your dances, you sing with your mouth, you blow a trumpet of praise and then you trample on your enemies. When Paul & Silas were leaving they were begging them. all your enemy will beg you very soon. After this praise all your muckers will sing there hossana don't look at your problem but praise. Paul's legs are chained but there mouth were not chained and they praise because doors of healing will open, doors open. Let your thought, your brain everything be there. Every one dances, one way or the other we all dance. Just like Paul and Silas prison turn to testimony, your problem will be turn to testimony in Jesus name.

When you praise God will arise and His enemy will scattered . Psalm 68:1 No point to be ashamed for what it is gainful there is no point to be ashamed because you are the one that will gain. You don't need to be ashamed of what you will gain.

It is celebrators of God that end up as celebrity. Everything you see in the world as a counterfeit.

Only thing God can not do for himself is to praise Himself.

So when you do something He can not do He will do what you can not do. Exodus 15:11. Praise as to do with greatness of God. If you want God to do wonders then give Him a fearful praise.

When you are praiseful you become wonder, when your life is filled with praise wonders will surround your life. Wonders simply means what makes people to wonder. Your life must be a surprise to people, but it takes praise to happen.

When you are in praise you are in God, because every time you praise Him He efflux your life with wonders and when you are in God you become unbeatable in life because He habits the praises of His people Psalm 22:3.

Every time you lift God up He will lift you up. Every time you celebrate God you become a celebrity. Anything you are doing in the kingdom of God you must do with expectation. the primary reason why God created your is to praise Him other are secondary. What kind of wonders must expect as i praise God? 1.Expect victory and beautification ( beautification removes shamufication if there is anything like that). 1. Expect victory: not just the dancing that did the victory but having understanding. Joshua6:1-20. You need to have understanding in praising God. They are some obstacle in your life like that wall. So in the kingdom of God don't overcome barriers by your human strength .1Peter2:9.

1. Praise is a means of securing the power of God that will convert the barriers into miracles, obstacles into testimonies. All you need to do is to blow the trumpet of praise and you put your enemy under you foot. Endless victory is a form of praise. When they praise God, God came down and the wall moved. When the wall saw God it's gave way. Every barrier before you shall give way today in Jesus name. There are things you can not fight with humans strength. The heart of man is in the hand of God.

2. Beautification, because victory as to go with beauty. Psalm 149:3-4 If you are not dancing you are not praising. Verse 4, When you praise Him He beautifies your life. The summary of christianity is salvation and salvation is a package. Nothing turn to glory like praise. Those who glory God through praise are beautify by Him. When you praise God He turns your situation. He turns things around. Once you are praiseful beautifies become par of you. God can not praise Himself so He created you to do that. God does wonders in the mist of praises. Exodus15:11. Praise makes you a wonder to your world. Praise focuses on the omnipotency of God. It talks about the greatness of God. If all what you need is wonder and what you need is that wonder. God is every where but God does not manifest every where. You have to create an atmosphere for God to manifest and that atmosphere is praise. If God be fore us who can be against us. No matter the challenge of life if you can secure the presence of God, the obstacle will turn to miracle.

1. I should expect judgement 2Chronicle 20:1. The gang was tick. Judea was just a state in Isreal. You can imagine a state to three countries. Some challenges are like that. Versa 4 they ask the help of the Lord. Verse12- judgement, When you don't know what to do there is still one more thing to do. Verser 15 the battle is not yours , fear not.. Verse 17 -21 there som battle you don't need to fight. You are already declared the winner either you fight or not. How can singer be before Army is not natural. When God want to fight He turns the table around because if Army should be at the front they will say they fight but it was the other way round. Nothing happen until they began to sing in verse 22 -23. Why you are just watching they will be fighting themselves . Verse 24. There was no escape .25-they were blessed in their enemies riches after the battle. Life is fill of battle but you can transfer all your battle onto God by engaging in praise. When you engage in the place of judgement you will end up in enjoyment. When you don't know what to do switch to praise. Do you know what praise does?

Praise makes you a spectator. You don't need to partake in the fight because God will take over the fight and you will be seeing things happening. When things are happening you don't. need to do anything but you become a spectator. Expect a judgement .

2. Supernatural lifting. Lifting that it's from God. Habakkuk 3:17-19. Every high praise is your way to high places. When you honour God in praise He will honour you on the earth. Praiseful Christians are alway at the top. When you are shameless in praise God removes your shame. Praise guaranty supernatural lifting. There is man in the bible name Joseph God lifted him from prison to the palace under 24 hours because Joseph was always praiseful, he is a man of praise. Within 24 hours God will lift you from nobody to somebody in Jesus name. Psalm 92:1-2,10-13. Psalm 75:6-7. Praise is the larder to the top. He would put somebody down just to lift you up as you praise Him. If a man lift a child up the child stops where the mans hand reach but when you praise God He will look down and lift you up and sky will not be the limit, you will be up there flowing. You want to transfer. your fight to God? There is what they call tap team wrestling, God is your partner and quality praises is all what you need tap your partner today while satan and his team are the opponent and God does not need the bell after the fight He will give you the belt. When you raise God high praise naturally comes from you. Psalm 147:1 God is exited when you praise. 2 Corinthians 2:14. Our praise moves God in our favour. Praise will lunch you to the endless miracle. It is the God giving weapon to emulates Satan . Psalm 149:3 Dancing is just body movement. You can worship without dancing but you can't praise without dancing psalm 149:6. God lives in praise. Overtime you praise God you are doing what He can not do for himself. When you show forth His praise you become a show piece. Those who praise God don't go down. Praise is a spiritual lifter. Hear this and hear me well " if you must be praiseful you must be thanks full on the inside , if you are not thanks full on the inside you can not be praise full on the outside. Its only those who are thanks full that become praise full and when you become God's full and when you God's full you become wonderful ". James 5:13 only song coming from a merry heart only acceptable unto God. Because singing opens heaven. The cheapest way to triumph is to praise God. Only those who do from the heart that will receive victory. Don't complain on the inside when you are praising God. May your heart be hooked up into the frequency of praise in Jesus name.Romans 4: 17-20 A man Abraham is a man of faith and that last step into his miracle was faith, there wouldn't have been any Isaac if there wasn't any praise and you can not praise God without faith. There are certain obstacle to triumphant praise that you need to avoid. In spite of all condition Abraham gives praise. 1.His case was not hopeless but he was not hopeless.

2 His condition in the natural he was impotent condition but he said God's word has the ability to change my story .

When Abraham saw all that he focus on the promises of God and he give Him glory. You don't look at the circumstances around you, you don't look at the situation around you, you focus on the promises of God and when you praise God base on the promise that God has giving you then miracles are bound to happen. He stagger not at the promise of God through unbelievable. So when you don't praise God because of circumstance you are walking unbelief. But when you praise God in spite what is happening what is fitting will superior what is happening.. Am sure some people must have mucking saying they said you are going to father of many nation but at the end of it his Isaac was born. It is natural to Mormon but it is not scriptural.

1 Corinthians 10:10 . For God to intervene in your affairs turn the switch of the miraculous by taking your eyes of the problems and by focusing on the almighty God. For the things which we see are temporary and for the things which do not see are permanent. The word temporal means it is subject to change. 2 corinthians 4:18. God is saying. no matter what you are seeing now it is subject to change. When you praise God, you invite God and when you invite God situation change. All you challenges are subject to change. His word can never change. Psalm 56:10. When you praise God because of His word problems give way. In every temptation there is a way and that way of escape is praise. He will beautify your life when you praise Him. When He beautify's your life He takes shame out of your life. It is time you turn your place of mourning to a place of praise and your life will never remain the same.

Our Text: Ps 19:13 Please do not lead me into presumptuous sin.

Presumption has its roots in; pride, self-will or arrogance. Dictionary defines presumption as arrogant, disrespectful and unduly confident. Presumption is seeded in the soil of familiarity and "familiarity breeds contempt". We need on the one hand to get close to the Father, but at the same time not presume on God's presence.

Case 1 - The Presumption of Moses
Ex 17:1-7 Moses presumed on his relationship with God. Moses had such favour with God, yet sinned through presumption.
Num 20:1 Familiarity was beginning to creep in v10; hear now ye rebels, we must fetch you water out of this rock? Ye rebels suggests over confidence, and we suggests he thought that he was doing the miracle. In vs 11 Moses struck the rock twice! The point is he was never told to strike the rock at all! It is important not to presume on past methods. God is speaking new things all the time, we must listen to Him and not just implement old plans from the past.

Case 2 - The Presumption of The Children of Israel
Num 14:39-45 The people presumed to go up to the top of the mountain, vs 41 Moses warned them - God is not with you, but they presumed to go up unto the hill.

Case 3 - The Presumption of the Foolish Virgins
Matt 25:1-13 The five wise virgins entered into a place with the Bridegroom that the foolish did not and it was all dependent on the oil. All virgins knew that extra oil was needed, but 5 presumed it would be ok. The presumptuous ones basically said when the time comes we will go to some of the radical Christians and we will take from them. The 5 foolish virgins without oil were not willing to pay the price for an intimate relationship. We have to pay the price for a greater anointing. The price has been paid for our redemption forever by the blood of Jesus, but to be a disciple will cost.

Discipleship - The Cost
A disciple is simply one who does the will of God. Many refuse to pay the price because they presume they can ride on the back of someone else's relationship. We have to work out our own salvation:
Matt 12:46-48 Jesus said having a relationship with Him, like a sister, brother or mother, depends on doing the will of God. Jesus said for whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother, (vs 50). James 4:13-16 Presumption plans for itself, but a disciple of Christ will determine to do God’s will. Heb 10:9 Let us follow the example of Jesus and lay down what we desire for God's plans.
In the book of Psalms 42:5, the Psalmist observed that in spite of what
He did, he was still worried. Christians often get worried in spite of
God's express command that we should not. In John 14:1, the Lord says we should
not let our hearts become troubled and He gave a recipe to worries: believe in
God and in Jesus. Faith is the
solution to worries. Also in John 14:27, He says not only should your heart not
be troubled, but that you should also keep fear away from you.

Fear and faith are directly opposed to each other but similar in the
sense that each involves some form of believe. The fearful believes that
something unpleasant is going to happen while the faithful believes that
something good is about to happen. In both fear and faith, there is an
expectation and expectations can be very strong sometimes. In fear, there is
believe, but this believe is in the wrong thing or the wrong person. When you
express strong belief in the occurrence of something negative, you are
misapplying the creative power in you.

The fearful believes in something and the confident also believes. This simply means that there is nobody
who has no expectation. There is
nobody too who can say I have no faith.
You express faith one-way or the other whether you like it or not. The
most fearful and suspicious people are people with great faith potentials. Are you always very fearful? You have the capacity of manifesting
great faith. In fact, if you start
to believe strongly in something good happening in your life or situation in
place of the negative thoughts, you will get the Lord's commendation. However,
when you have expectations or faith, for it to work very well, it must be
connected with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If you say you believe in God
but do not believe in Jesus, your faith will be unable to deliver its best to
you. Another thing is that you must be in the place of righteousness for faith
to deliver its best. If you are in sin but you believe in the Godhead you have
just placed a log on your wheel of faith. Remove it; remove that bitterness,
lie, deceit and hatred. Remove
pride, envy and jealousy and ensure you are completely clean so as to
effectively activate your faith.

Bible Reading:
2 Chronicle 14,15 &16 :1-10

An ally is someone in helpful association with another. This is to join in agreement either Politically, Economically, Marriage , Treaty or Friendship.
Normally small countries do ally themselves with bigger once. Your ally is always there fore you in the time of trouble.

You don't have to wait until when trouble arises before knowing whom your ally is. You need to know your ally very well, you must have share the same view and understand each other very well.
In time of trouble you are rest assured that the battle will not be forth by you alone when you have a good and reliable ally.

Some times people always chose a wrong ally and this is costly. The question remain this, who is your ally?
Whenever you are in trouble, whom do you call on or who do you run to for help?
Do you seek help from man or from God?
Do you solemnly depend on your money, your intellectual, connection or your security? Do you make all these your ally in the place of God?

The Bible meant me to understand in the book of Psalm 46:1 that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble"

When situation arises, when it seems you are alone in a situation, when you feel rejected by the people you trust so much. Whom do you turn to for help, who do you put your trust in, Man or God?

The facts remains that whom your ally determined the out come of your battle.

Man will fail us, all our defence will fail us but God will never fail.
Psalm 118:8 " It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man"
Because all His promises are Yea and Amen, He will surely bring His promises to pass in my life and in your life in Jesus name, only if we can make Him our defence and trust in Him totally.
Psalm 34:5 says " Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces".

Do you depend on your position?
That will not help you either in the time of trouble.

There are many well known and powerful leaders of yesterday who think there position can save them, who thought their connections will even save them in the time of trouble but when trouble arose neither of those save them, some died shamefully, some are on the run, even some are neither died or alive but thrown into prison. Those who made God their ally will never be put to shame.
Romans 10:11 "As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

When you want to chose an ally you need to chose someone that is more stronger than yourself, some one that can be intimidating and who is ready to defend once you call on him.
Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear or be in dread of them: for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you."

Because He is God, He controls all situation. Trusting in Him is all what we need because
i. He will not give idle promises.
ii. God will never fails you.
iii. God will never forsakes you.
iv. When times are good, God is there.
v. When times are bad, God is there.

The good news is that, He is a Covenant keeping God. Job put His trust in Him (not in his friends or his family) and God restored Job better than he was before.
Abraham put his trust in God and God never failed or forsook Abraham.
Jacob put his trust in God and God made Jacob the father of Israel.
David put his trust in God and God restored murderous David and called him a man after His own heart.

In the year ahead make God your ally, put your trust in Him and He will never forsake you.
I would like to remind us that we need an ally that will support us in time of trouble because we don't know what lies ahead in the years to come. Challenges will always come but we need someone that will us to pull through, we all need some one that will be there when it seems no one is there for us. The Bible say in
Psalm 34:17-20 "When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken."

Don't go into the year ahead just alone like that. You need to sign up a treaty with The Lord today. He will alway be there when you call on Him, He has never failed and He will not fail you. Ephesians 6:10-12

HOW DO I SIGN TREATY WITH GOD?

1. By worshipping Him: When you worship God you are simply saying He should come and dwell in you. When God dwells in you all your enemies, your troubles will disappear. Do not wait until when you ran into trouble before call on God but worship Him always in order to keep His presences. The Lord will help you defeat your enemies and make them scatter in all directions when you worship Him. All challenges and peril in the year ahead will flee before God when you worship Him.
Psalm 68:1, 2 Chronicle 20:1-9

2 . Give Him praise...give thanks. If you want to see the supernatural hands of God praise Him, thank Him for the battle He has won, the one is fighting for you presently and the one is yet to fight because when the praise go up the blessings do come down.
Psalm 67:5-7
5 [Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.] 6Then[ shall the earth yield her increase; ] and[ God, ] even[ our own God, shall bless us.] 7[God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.]

3. Learn how to wait on Him. We should learn to wait on Him at all time. God gives children who learn to wait upon Him WINGS, so they can MOUNT UP as the eagle.
Psalm 40:1-2 (KJV)
[I waited patiently for the ] Lord[; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.] 2[He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, ] and[ established my goings.]

4. Avoid every form of sin, Sin irritates God. Does God ever get angry with us? Yes, He does. When we miss the mark – that is called sin – we irritate God. He can’t stand to look at sin. He is unable to just ignore it, no matter how insignificant we may think it is. God is holy and can’t just look the other way Ephesians 6:13
1 Thessalonians 5:22, 1 Peter1:14-25

5. Stand on His word. Standing on the word of God in the midst of storms is very important because His word is our sustenance. We live by every word that comes from the mouth of God. It is the word of God that gives us the strength to face the realities and difficulties of life. Therefore we must pay careful attention to what the Lord is saying to us . Because we live by the word of God . Otherwise we would perish in the circumstances of life.
Matthew 4:4 Deutronomy 8:2-3

For you to win the battle of this life, you need an ally. Without any strong support in the time of trouble we are vulnerable and open to severe attacks, we need someone who will always be there for us when we run out of strength and God is the only one who will never fail. Make God your ally today and you will never surfer any lost.

If you haven't accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour there is no way God can be your ally because you need to draw near to Him before He can be your defence.

Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour today and that will guaranty your treaty with God

Prayer Point:
Father please be my ally. This we pray in Jesus name. Amen

God bless
Text: Habakuk 2:2
You are welcome to the month of December the last month of the year. We blessed the name for seeing us through the year 2012. My prayer is that we shall all see end of many years to come in Jesus name.

At the beginning of the year, many dreamt of success, some dreamt of actualising their goals and many dreamt of achieving one or two things before the end of the year. They dream thinking come end of 2012 they most have bring those dreams to reality but here we are, those dreams are yet to be actualised and that brings a puzzle of how and when is those dreams are going to be actualised?

A dream is a series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of our lives; either when sleeping or awake. Usually whatever you dream about is related some way to your life and something that has happened or is going to happen, it can show you your feeling about certain things.

We have different types of dream.

1. Night dream:
This is the type of dream we have when asleep and is very common to everyone.

2. Day dream:
A dreamlike musing or fantasy while awake, especially of the fulfillment of wishes or hopes. This is when you practice your life and you think things through in every direction before they happen. when you are very prepared in emergencies.

Martin Luther King Jnr. delivered a powerful speech on the 28 August 1963 to be precise, at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C. Where he says " I HAVE A DREAM" and his dream came to reality even when he was no more.

Your dream could be in form of a vision, plan, goal or idea but once you have one, do not brush it aside but write them down, dwell on it prayerfully and guide it to reality. It is not all dreams that are good dreams but the Bible says "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17
Joel 2:28
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions."

In these verses we could see that good dreams only come from God. That means all good inspirations,
ideas and dreams are from God.

As we have good dreams so also bad dreams.
Every dreams, goals, vision that is not good and perfect is not from God but they are from satan. By nature, we always begin with the distance between where we are and where we want to be and one of the ways we can narrow that distance until it no longer exists is by acting in faith in Christ Jesus. To accomplish this we need to draw our goals and dreams closer while we simultaneously and prayerfully moving toward them. Bringing your dream to reality is very important. You bring your dream to reality by acting on it and one of the ways you could do this is by constantly exercising your faith in Christ Jesus and putting your total trust in God whom every good and perfect gift comes from.

Without us fixing our eyes on Him - Jesus, there is no way our dreams can come to reality.
"To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory" Colossians 1:27
The Bible says in the book of Psalm 34:5 "They looked unto him, and were radiant: and their faces were not ashamed."

You need to exercise your faith totally in Him. In this case, I see Faith as that spiritual energy inside of you that brings your visualisation to realisation which propel your hope and destiny to manifestations.

Martin Luther King Jnr. Quotes that
" Faith is taking the first step when you don't even see the whole staircase"
How brave are you when it comes to putting your total trust in God in decision making? Hebrews 11:1" Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Realising your dreams and accomplishing your goals happens more faster by you chosen to draw up those goals and by you acting on them positively in faith. Some people attempt to attract their goals without taking much action but the wise one take action by faith.

The bible says" But without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who come to Him must believe that He is" Hebrews 11:6.

In the book of Joel 2: 28 God has promised and He is not a man that He will not bring it to pass. The more I study the Scripture, the more I’m impressed with how greatly it encourages us to be optimistic about realizing our personal potential.. Scripture pictures God as infinitely compassionate and infinitely powerful-intent on bringing about His best for our lives, and fully capable of doing it.
Jeremiah 29:11 says ""For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"

It teaches me too, that He has fashioned our personality and influences our desires. We have, in short, a reassuring basis for taking our personal dreams seriously. If we are intent on doing God’s will, and are taking care to seek his guidance, we may trust that our dreams are being inspired by him to an important extent. It only makes sense, then, to stay hopeful about achieving them.

MANIFESTING YOUR DREMS AND ACTUALISING YOUR GOALS
There are some of the components that deserve our attention before we can manifest our dreams and actualise our goals.

1. You need to write your dreams and your goals down. Habakkuk 2:2
By you written them down you are imprinting them on your own mind, you are painting the picture that no one can paint for you and by doing this you make it more clearer to your self and others that you wish to share it with. It is what you write down that you can transmit to the future. What is handed down by tradition is easily mistaken and liable to corruption; but what is written is reduced to a certainty. Always have written materials around you, where you can scrap your God's giving ideas, dreams and goals on.

2. Know whom you share your dream with. Genesis 37:5
Dreams and goals are very powerful and very important. Whoever you share your dreams and goals with really matters. As we have dream makers so also we have dream killers. Joseph share his dream with the people he though he trusted most not knowing that they are his closet enemies. Though his dream came to reality but he paid dearly for it.

3. You have to guide your dream or idea. Guide your dream jealously so that people you think you trust so much will not truncate your destiny. We have some Herodian spirit out there. These could be spirit, an individual or group of people and organisation that kill the Royal seeds. Mathew 2:1-23.

4. Work on your dreams and goals as fast as possible. Habakkuk 2:3
Not only will you write your dreams and goals down but you will also need to have a time frame to work on them as fast as you can through the help of the Holy Spirit. Wether you have enough resources to start with or not, look around and see what you can start with.
Let us look at the story of Elisha and the wife of the prophet that died in debt in the book of 2 Kings 4:1-7. Elisha asked the widow what she has in her house. Use what you have to achieve what you want. You don't need to go far, that resources is around you there.
Do not let your dreams and goals died because you want to start big.
Habakuk 2:3a, there is always an appointed time so do not let this time pass you by. God has an appointed time for his appointed works, and will be sure to do the works when the time comes.

5. Be focused. You need to be focused at all time and be diligent in order to bring your dreams and goals to reality. Test and trial will come, always remember that one of the ways the devil could stop a believers from fulfilling God's giving promises is by distracting them.
Genesis 39:6 , 2 Kings 2:1-22 (Elisha was determined not to miss "once in a life time opportunity" to step into his dream by been focused.

6: Don't be a spectator you need to be involved: Habakuk 2:2d says"at he may run that read it. In the book of Genesis 41:1-44. Joseph did not fold his arms but he participated. Our action play a vital role in bringing our dreams and goals to reality.
Every action we take is by our own chosen. The tendency to see our dreams and goal in the future tense can accidentally fix them in the future. Because we never learn to relate to them in the present they can easily remain just out of reach. That is where the real power of visualization comes in. We can pull those future things into the present thus learning to experience them in the here and now. Doing so removes the limiting stigma of having a mental time stamp. So, following your goals and dreams is a matter of choice, no matter how hard it may be at times. If we keep making choices towards our highest potential, we’ll reach it. Put yourself there, be involved and participate.

7. Differentiate between your deep goals and your surface goals. Your Deep Goals are the deep emotional reasons why your surface goals are important to you. Your deep goals are the things that make your surface goals matter to you: What you’re hoping to gain, at a deep emotional level from achieving your surface goals. Example of surface goal is you getting married and the pride that you will be a family man or woman is your deep goal. So you have to chose your surface goals in other to achieve your deep goals. Genesis 29:15-28.

8. By putting God at the centre of your dreams. Your dreams and goals determined your future and part of the ways to bring it to reality is by you making God the focus point of your dreams and goals. By you doing this, your future is certain and sure. So a life without Christ Jesus is a life without future. Our dreams shaping our world and the type of dreams you have determined the type of future you get.

Psalm 127:1 says "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."

The bible says "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17

Yes! It might seems the year is just few weeks away to come to an end and you are yet to actualise those dreams. It is not too late, the God of a second chance can still make your dreams come alive.

Why not say this simple prayer today if you yet to known Him- Jesus Christ.

" Lord Jesus I accept you as my Lord and personal saviour today and I confess that you come and died for my sin so that I can live. This I prayed in Jesus name". God bless.
A past time is a time that has gone. At every moment of life we all have a past.
Your past is part of your life experience and everyone has unique experience that make them experienced in different things.

Your past could be filled with either negative or positive experience but you don’t have to stick to it. Whatever your past has been, it has also been very good to you, because it is your past that has delivered you here and it is time for you to move on. Some people dwell so much on their past that they allowed their past to dictate their future. Dwelling on the past is not only dangerous but it is also a sin before God.
In the book of Exodus 16: 2-3. The children of Israel were liberated from the land of Egypt by the everlasting arms of God, still they were still looking back to when they do seat by the flesh pots, and did eat bread to the full. Not only will it hunt but it will always stand on the way to success if we keep on dwelling on our past. The book of 2 kings 2. Elisha faced a new reality after the departure of Elijah. It was a new face for him. You need to walk in the understanding that life is in phases. When one chapter ends, another begins.

Psalms 37:25 says:”I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread”. In this scripture, there is the face of being a youth and another face of being old. A new chapter had just begun in the life of Elisha.

The face of Elisha the servant, who went everywhere with his master had just ended and another phase of Elisha the national prophet, national hero with several attendants has just begun. 2Kings 2 :12-14
When it is time for the next level, Elisha refused to continue in the old face. For some people, God has already moved them from one stage of life to another stage but they are still looking back just like the children of Israel did, who was brought out of Egypt with God’s everlasting harms but still want to go back. What is that your past that you are allowing to dictate your FUTURE? it’s now time to tell yourself that;

I WANT TO MOVE ON.
I AM LEAVING MY PAST BEHIND.
I AM AN HERO AND NOT A ZERO
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MY FUTURE, WHERE THERE IS HOPE AND JOY.

Apostle Paul says in the book of Philippians 3:13 ” Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before”

We should be ready to move on, we should be ready to move forward. We should be ready to let go of the past. We should stop living in our past. In 1 Samuel 25:1, after mourning the death of Samuel, David continued with his journey. Life continues irrespective of the challenges of each day, and so must you. If you don’t leave your past it will continue to hunt you.

Paul had to adopt a strategy of forgetting his past so that he could face his future by putting the past behind (Philippians 3:12-14).

Dwelling in the past hinders the blessings of God, so never allow past failures hinder your future success. Never allow past victories and successes hinder future ones.

WHAT CAN I DO TO STOP DWELLING ON THE PAST?

1. You need to let go. Some people have lost their future to their past because somehow, they were never able to put the past behind them.

Have you lost someone that was so dear to you? Move on from that spot! Have you lost someone who promised to help sponsor your education or help set you up in business? Move on from that spot and another helper will surface. Have you been disappointed or jilted by someone? I want you to understand that it is only God that can not fail because man will fail you.

I could remember when I was using one old Mercedes Benz 230 some years back in Abuja, Nigeria. Having a car is a norm and I was so attached to it that I found it very difficult to let go even when it was even over due for a change, but one day God delivered me from my attachment to it and I sold it, it was after selling it that new door of buying better cars started opening and since then I don’t attach myself to anything anymore. If you don’t let go of the past another door will not open.

2. By connecting to our divine source. Psalm 75:6-7
You can only receive the best help from above – God. Every good blessing, every perfect help is from above. Never allow your past failure or achievement hinder your future success by relying on your intellectual or men.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning”. James 1:17

God is just perfect, when HE says HE will do HE will do it. When you need Him He will be there for you.

As a student do you think passing your exam once is your power? No, it is just by HIS grace you passed, praise God for it and move on.

3.By turning away from sin- Pride. If only we can come down off our high horse and turn to God. As some will say “Me? Over my dead body.”

No wonder some people do not move forward because they have exercised the power of their tongue by saying over their dead bodies. If only you can let go by removing the pride in you and turn the situation to God, you will see how fast you will go in life. 2 Chronicle 7:14.

4. Work by faith. As always, victory comes through faith in God’s presence. Put everything to God in faith and see what He is going to do. We can see in the book of Exodus 4:17 where Moses surrendered his rod, God caused it to become a symbol of much more as He placed it back into Moses’ hands. As God did this, it became a symbol of God’s authority and was to be used as God directed.

Are you asking if God can do it? Oh yes! HE can. If only you can surrender all. If you want to experience freedom from sin, freedom from bondage, freedom from guilt, freedom from sorrows, you must come to God in faith; only those who TRUST GOD, who believe in Him, will find salvation!

5. Turn the place of your defeat into the place of victory: In the book of Joshua 8:1-2 Joshua was told to go up again and attack Ai. He is to return to the place of defeat and turn it to a place of victory, and now, because Joshua and the people are rightly related to the Lord, God promised and they could turn the place of defeat into a place of victory. Prayerfully turn your place of defeat to a place of victory.

6. Do not share God’s glory by allowing your past victories and successes hindering future ones. The book of Isaiah 42:8 says ” I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images”. Stop dwelling in your past! As long as you remain at that bus stop of where you are dwell of the past. That point where you refuse to let go of your previous experience or achievements, failure, disappointment and rejection in life, no new thing will come in.

Can I tell you something, that your time has not been wasted in the experience you had. Everything has brought you to where you are now, and this is the time for you to make a choice from here and move forward in whatever direction you choose to go.

7. Give thanks. What does the Bible says about complaining in the book of Numbers 11 :1-4 , Lamentations 3 :39. The Bible says in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:1 “Instead of complaining give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

The portion of life of over which you control begins from this moment. Here is another chance for you to choose which direction you wish to go. Take a step into your future today and stop celebrating your past glory and failures.

Our desires have become attached to things that are little, when they are meant to be attached to something which cannot decay or disappoint. Have you been dwelling on your past for so long? This is the time for you to turn it to Jesus who will help you to fix it.

Mathew 11:28 – 30 says “28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Have you accepted Jesus Christ into your life? It is not too late only if we can invite Jesus to come and live within us and be the Lord of our lives then our inheritance in the future kingdom is assured.
